Activities throughout 2007-2008
now now.. we have only started this blog recently. So i'm sorry to say that i have not been able to update this blog with all the activities of this year n the last. but i'll list down here as much as possible....
First of all was our MYCS Telematch on the 17th of November 2007. then, followed by Easter Camp which was held on the 20th-23rd March 2008 which included a drama. Our next big activity was helping out with the jogathon.
Lastly, we organised the Inter-School Bible Quiz for schools in Miri. The dates: 11th June 2008, first round was participated by 12 schools. 2nd round, was on the 20th July where 8 schools participated as 4 have been eliminated in the first round. Then followed the semi-finals on the 10th of August where only 5 schools (SMK St. Joseph, SMK Merbau, SMK Pujut, SMK Chung Hua and SM Riam) participated after another 3 were eliminated during the 2nd round. These three rounds of bible quiz were in paper form. The finals on the other hand was in a quiz show form. It was on the 21st of September 2008 and it was SMK St. Joseph versus SMK Merbau. SMK Merbau won.
Then, 5 best scorers throughout this Bible Quiz were chosen to compete against another 5 best scorers of Limbang on the 25th of October 2008 at Dynasty Hotel for the Inter-Parish level. I am proud to say that Miri won.
We also had a monthly newsletter going on with the committee listed below:

Now, what is MYCS?
It stands for Miri Young Catholic Students; an organization which acts as YCS’ HQ (Headquarters) and ALL Miri secondary school Roman Catholic students are automatically a member of this organization (it does not matter whether your school has YCS or not, all that matters is you because you are a part of us and all we need is just you!)
Why is MYCS formed?
For YOU! It was formed for Roman Catholic youths like us so that all of us can get to know each other, especially our Roman Catholic friends from other secondary schools in Miri whom we have not known yet. And to make sure we help each other keep our faith strong against any obstacles.
How to get involved in MYCS?
You can start by sharing this good news to all and tell everyone about MYCS so that all may know who we are… and of course that we're not on the NET!!
